Vegeåleden is a hiking trail along the river Vege å between Strövelstorp and Utvälinge.

2/5 2009: We walk from the bus stop to Strövelstorp church which is from 12th century, with many alterations since then. North of the church do we find the hiking trail Vegeåleden. It follows the edge of the village. Turns left into the village past the plague cemetery, here lies 88 victims of the plague in 1711. Pass the school to a gravel road that takes us out of the village. Abandoning the gravel road for a small track between fields to Vege river. It is a short visit to the river, a path and forest road take us through deciduous and spruce forests, and a newly planted area with spruce. Over the main road, continue on a road under shady trees to Vegeholm. On the bridge over Vege river, here the river meanders sharply. Vegeholm is private, a sign with the meaning 'here, but no longer' stand by a fine stone bridge. Going in the opposite direction on a bridge over the river again. Enters a beech forest with lily of the valley for lunch with a view towards the river. Then we follow the river on a nice path. The bird cherry is in bloom. A heron is disturbed and float away over the river. We walk under a railway bridge, switching to the other side of the river on a bridge, go under a main road. Here is the river wrapped in reed belts. Close to the trail is a forest plantation. In Utvälinge the trail end without saying anything about its existence. The former brick factory is used as storage place by the sailing club. Furthest out is a bridge to the island Sandön. The bridge is partially dismantled. Children crawl on the beams. We must return to the road to get over the river. Then we follow a forest road to the sea. Walk along the sea on the beach to Kronoskogen, then the white track through the forest to the railway station in Ängelholm. Seems to have been something in the railway museum, the old locomotives are out and moving. The train home is via Åstorp because of a forest fire.
