In the porch of Norra Åsum's church is a runestone, which was erected in connection with the church's construction. On the stone it is mentioned that Archbishop Absalon had the church built. Absalon was archbishop 1177-1201, so the church was built during that time. The text says:

Christ, the son of Mary, help those who did the church, Archbishop Absalon and Esbjörn Mule.

It also means that it is a late runestone, the last to be erected in the Danish kingdom and more than a century after the Viking-era stones were erected. Who Esbjörn Mule was is uncertain, probably a local important person connected to Absalon. The stone stands to the right of the door into the church. In front of the stone is a children corner tables, chairs and toys. In these times there is also a liquor bottle for disinfection. Walking around to study the church.
