At Ravinen Cultural Center at Norrviken Gardens is an exhibition with Lars Lerin's paintings. We have booked an appointment at 3 pm just in case. We are here already at 11 am so we have time to walk around Norrviken Gardens. Starting with a lemon lemonade sunshine and a cake under a parasol in the café. Then walking around the garden. In the greenhouse is an exhibition by Marie Olsso Nylander, known for house dreams Sicily. In the garden are a few different temporary installations, e.g. Somnia Leato by Anna Starrén. Eating lunch in the shade on the terrace of the Orangeriet. Fish dish. Drinking non-alcoholic beer recommended by the Church of Sweden, Höganäs brewery. Beautiful weather with a view of the sea. After dinner it's time for Lars Lerin at Ravinen Cultural Center. It's the end of the exhibition so there was no need to book an appointment. Quite a few visitors. Nice exhibition. Buys a pot designed by Gustaf Kraitz (the founder of Ravinen) as a birthday present.

The motorway up to Helsingborg is not fun to drive. Lots of traffic and trucks. Easier after Ängelholm, but still feels nice to drive off at Östra Karup towards Båstad. Drive through beautiful Båstad. Just west of Båstad are Norrviken's gardens on the slope towards the sea. They have just opened for the day, there are already many cars in the parking lot.

Pays our entrance fee and walks towards Villa Abelin. The garden was laid out by Rudolf Abelin in the early 20th century. He planted it in different garden styles. There were many fruit trees, today only a part of them remains. Along the aisle are nice lanterns at cypresses. In front of the villa is the baroque garden. Walk up to the water garden with the water temple south of the villa. West of the villa is the renaissance garden with its cut boxwood. To the west is the mirror pond with water lilies and with an endless view towards the sea. Enter the glass pavilions. In the apiary, it buzzes from beehives.

Time for lunch. There is plenty of space inside the orangery, but too hot there. Want to sit out on the terrace, where there is only one table in the sun free. We take it even though it is hot even in the sun and order. Before the food arrives, there become a free table in the shade. We're moving there. Good and comfortable in the shade. Waving to the waitress that we have moved.

Walks through the oriental terrace, with its temple, down to the Japanese garden. Lush and beautiful. After the meal coffee is needed, there is a cafeteria in the villa with a patio facing the baroque garden. Get a place with parasol. Strolling towards the exit. Walks to the view of the sea, past the osprey monument (a memory of Abelin's father). Buy honey in the shop in the thatched house. Drive the small roads home, avoid the highway during rush hour.
