Have sometimes been to St Mary's Church but never seen it. Today a longer visit to the church, which began to be built shortly after 1300 and were completed 100 years later. In front of the entrance stands a female sculpture "The Source of Life". When you enter, the first thing you see are tombstones from the 15th and 17th centuries in the floor of the church. A woman comes up and guides us around for a while. On a pillar is a painting from 1583 "Lazarustavlan". In the choir there are stained glass windows from the 20th century. The altar cabinet is from the 15th century with pictures from the lives of Jesus and Mary. Above the chancel hangs a medieval trium crucifix. In the northeast are scaffolding, an explosion has damaged the church. In the aisle behind the altar are remains of wall paintings. There are some epitaphs. Models of sailing ships hung from the ceiling, the oldest from 1739. Finally walks outside around the church. Short visit, but have now seen the church Time for lunch, we go to Roy's fish.
