Coming from the south on route 23 towards Hässleholm. Head east onto the road to Ignaberga Passing the new church, then right and right again into the car park. There, the church is on a hill with a view of the area. There my sister and brother-in-law meet up.

The church was built at the end of the 12th century with limestone from the area in Romanesque style. Perhaps its high location was chosen with defense in mind. In the 1880s, a new church was built and the old one fell into disrepair. in the 1920s, crown prince Gustaf Adolf passed the church and thought it should be renovated, which was done and it reopened in 1928. A nice little church without a tower. There has been a belfry.

We walk around the church and look at some tombstones with dates from the 18th and 19th centuries. Titles like maintaining farmer and wife. Freeholder with wife and daughter. Some are unreadable. Entering the church. There are old tombstones in the Church porch. At the reopening, the altar piece and choir benches from about 1730 were reinstalled. Benches, pulpit and stands were newly manufactured. Later, wooden figures have been found. On the north wall are three figures from the 15th century: a bishop, Anna with the Virgin Mary with Jesus and the apostle Jacob the Elder. On the south side, two figures from the 13th century. On one wall is "MDCCXVII" i.e. 1717, the year the church was extended. On one wall there is also a solar cross. Baptism font from the 12th century, looks a bit rough. Organ with stand is from modern times. In the aisle between the benches, there are large stones as part of the floor. We walk outside the cemetery, it is surrounded by a stone wall. The church roof is decorated with a church roosters, can interpret a year on it as 177X. Inside the armory hung two church roosters, one with the year 1779. Similar.

We have decided to have lunch at Hovdala Castle. They have a buffet so it it will be. As dessert Hovdala cake in the café. Being inspired by the kitchen garden, wants a winter savory. At the castle, the grass is cut by horse-drawn mowers.
