The Museum of Sketches, archives of public art, is located at one of
Lund's most-used pedestrian and bicycle paths, Helgonabacken, most have
probably never visited the museum. Perhaps they do what I do,
stopped briefly to look at the works in the sculpture park. In the
spring the ground is covered with spring flowers.
13 October 2009: now I have the
chance to visit the museum and the exhibition "Everything trembles" -
Jane Philbrickk.
It is a guided tour for the university staff. We are about 20 persons.
A colleague has provided technology to a rotary speaker. The sound
reflects a sculpture, a mathematician has described the topology of the
sculpture, which was reworked to sound. The sound is focused and swept
through the room by the rotary speaker, reflected, you do not know
where it comes from. Gives a strange feeling. On a wall balls are
floating freely, much can be done with magnetism. Photography is
prohibited inside. In the sculpture park outside the entrance is the
work 'rammed earth', walls of stamped earth. A rusty roof is part of
the work. Here I can take a few pictures.
The sculpture park features models of other artists, in the water is an
Orpheus model, and original works, e.g. Reuterswärd peaceful gun,
and these are permanent. On the lawn are granite blocks. With the
university library as background blows a girl something from her palm,
against a hare looking at her.
The floating balls can be seen in through a window. One dark autumn
evening, I sneak outside the museum and take a blurry paparazzi picture
of the work.
